Internet / Connectivity » Endpoint Security Policy System (ESP)
On This Page:
Description
The ESP (Endpoint Security Policy) test is used to ensure that users who wish to connect their computers to the U of T network secure their computers (and thus the University network) from viruses, hacking and other security problems.
Undergraduate students with Windows computers are required to run a security utility once a semester to perform the necessary security checks on their computers.
Currently, the system checks for the presence of Microsoft Updates and the status of antivirus protection. If these conditions are met, the user can then access the Internet. If not, the user is directed to a webpage with instructions on how to fix their computer. The user must run the ESP utility until they fulfill the requirements.
If you cannot pass the ESP test after trying to use the ESP help pages, bring your computer to the Help Desk on the first floor of Robarts Library.
