UTORvpn benefits

The UTORvpn (virtual private network) service provides staff, faculty and graduate students who connect to the Internet through a commercial ISP access to certain restricted campus resources. If you are trying to use a resource that normally works fine while you are on campus but denies you access when you access it from elsewhere, UTORvpn may be a good solution to this problem. If you are unsure whether or not a restricted campus resource can be used with UTORvpn, please contact the administrator of that service.

The UTORvpn service allows you to establish a direct connection to the UofT network (i.e. your computer will have a University IP address). Sign up for UTORvpn (you will require your UTORid and password).

Note: UTORvpn is not required to access E-Resources through the Library.
