Norton AntiVirus installation on Mac OSX 10.1 or 10.2

Download the AntiVirus software from the UTORprotect website and follow these instructions to install it on your Mac computer running OSX 10.1 or 10.2.

Note: Before installing Symantec Antivirus Client, uninstall any existing virus software you have on your computer.

  1. If the file you just downloaded did not automatically unstuff to create the Norton AntiVirus disk image, double-click on it.
  2. Double-click on the icon labelled "Norton AntiVirus 9.0 Corp." If you don't see that icon, double-click on the Norton AntiViron 9.0 Corp.dmg disk image to mount it.
  3. Open the folder appropriate to your operating system and double-click on the installer.
  4. The Intro window appears next. Click Continue. Click Continue again.
  5. The Read Me window appears next. Click Continue.
  6. You will see the licence agreement. Read it and click Continue. Click Agree to continue.
  7. Select a destination to install the AntiVirus program and click Continue.
  8. Click Install. Enter your system password if necessary and click OK. Read the notice about restarting your computer and click Continue Installation.
  9. A progress indicator will show the status of the installation. Next, you will see a window asking if you want to run LiveUpdate to bring your software up to date. Click Yes.
  10. The next window notifies you that the software was successfully installed. Click Restart to restart your computer.
