Spam filtering in Webmail


Step 1. Create a spam filter

  1. Click Options and click Filters.
  2. Under Filter Options choose the desired settings, and click Save Options.
  3. Under Filter Settings, click on Edit your filter rules.
  4. Click on New Rule.
  5. Type in a Rule Name.
  6. Under For an incoming message that matches: select either All of the following or Any of the following
  7. Select a field to be filtered from the menu. You can also select a second field.
  8. Make sure Contains is selected.
  9. Enter the filter word(s) to be used.
  10. Under Do this: select Deliver to folder.
  11. For target folder select junk-mail.
  12. Uncheck Stop checking if this rule matches?
  13. Click Save.

Step 2. Determine when to run the filter

  1. Select UTORmail.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Under Filter Options select when to apply the filter
  4. Click Save Options

Step 3. Make the Empty Spam button visible on the toolbar

  1. Select UTORmail.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select Deleting and Moving Messages.
  4. Make sure there is a check mark beside Display the Empty Spam link in the menubar?
  5. Click Save Options.
