Set up Alumni UTmail+ in Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2007 (Exchange)

Please note: When you log in to UTmail+ using the Outlook Web App, your login is managed by the University of Toronto. Any means of accessing the UTmail+ service other than through a web browser will securely transmit your UTORid and password through Microsoft’s systems.

  1. Close Outlook if you have it open.
  2. Start the Mail applet:
    • in Windows 7 - Go to Start > Control Panel and type Mail in the search field
    • in Windows 8 - Go to Start and type Control Panel. Click on Control Panel on the left then type Mail in the Search box
  3. Open the Mail (32-bit) icon.
  4. You may see one of the two following windows: the Mail Setup window (if there are existing profiles) or the Mail window (if there are no exisiting profiles). If you see the Mail Setup window, you will need to click on Show Profiles before proceeding.

  5. Once you see the Mail window, click Add.

  6. Under Profile Name type UTmail, and click OK.

  7. Under Name, type your first name and last name, under Email Address type your username. Your username may vary depending on when your alumni account was set up. To check this, go to the UTORid web page, click the Get Info link and log in with your UTORid and password. Look at the line for UPN to find out what you should enter as your username.

    Under Password and Confirm Password type in the password associated with your UTORid and click Next.

  8. Outlook will try to search for server settings. This may take several minutes.

  9. Click on Allow when the warning shows up.

  10. Re-type your under Username and the password associated with your UTORid under password and click OK.

  11. Click Finish to save the settings.
