As the owner of a shared UTORexchange mailbox, you may want to maintain external (non-UTORexchange) addresses and Distribution Groups in a central location, which can be shared with others in your department.
By using a Public Folder created for your department, you (the owner) can easily create and maintain individual Contacts and Distribution Lists and share them with others. When you add new contacts/lists or change existing ones, those updates are immediately available to those with access to the folder.
- If you are using OWA, you will not be able to use Shared Contacts
- If you are on a Macintosh and are using either Entourage or Outlook 2011, you will only be able to access Individual Contacts but not Distribution Lists in the Public Folder
