Creating a generic email address (shared mailbox)

A single generic email address can be used by multiple people within a department. These mailboxes follow the form department.function@utoronto.ca or department@utoronto.ca.  For example,

geography.information@utoronto.ca
registrar@utoronto.ca
telecom@utoronto.ca

If you are on UTmail+ for Faculty, Librarians, and Staff and wish to create a shared mailbox, please see the article on UTmail+ Shared Mailboxes
Note: These email addresses will be created on the UTmail+ system. All owners and delegates must also be on UTmail+ in order to access it.

If you require an address for a Recognized Campus Group, Course Union or Student Societies go to Ulife.

For more information about getting a library card, please call Reader Registration at 416-978-7694.
