Getting Started with Email at UofT
The University provides a free e-mail service called UTORmail. Your UTORmail account gets created when you activate your UTORid. You can access UTORmail through an email program or web browser. For information about connecting to the web, see our Internet/Connectivity section.
The Help Desk provides support for the installation, configuration, and use of many email programs and web browsers. For help by phone, please contact us at (416) 978-HELP). See our hours of service.
Below please find instructions for installing or configuring your email client for use with your UTORmail account. Before you begin, please make sure you have activated your UTORid account, and that you have your configuration number, (find your configuration number on the UTORid Information page) along with your UTORid and password.

Other E-mail Services
If you are a student and have an email address through a different service (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo), you should be aware of the University's Policy on Official Correspondence with Students.
Create a generic departmental e-mail address (e.g., graduate.registrar@utoronto.ca)
Create an address for a recognized campus group. Campus groups and student societies recognized by the Office of Student Affairs can create one (e.g., italian.club@utoronto.ca)
