Wireless Security Certificate Renewal

On March 10th there will be an update to the wireless certificate. For most users this change should be transparent.  In some cases, mainly OSX, you may be prompted to accept the new certificate.  The following outlines what you may see when connecting to the UofT wireless network:

Mac

In Mac OS X 10.5.x – 10.8.x, you will be prompted to click Continue to accept the new certificate.

In 10.5. x, click Show Certificate. If Always trust “radius.wireless.utoronto.ca is unchecked, check it, otherwise the prompt to accept the new certificate will continue to appear.

In 10.9. x, you may be prompted to accept the certificate when reconnecting to the network..

If you wish to view the details of the certificate, click Show Certificate:

After clicking Continue, you will need to authenticate to your machine to allow the change to the Keychain Access. Connecting to the wireless network should happen automatically after that.

Windows

Windows 7 should not display a prompt to accept the new certificate and should connect as normal. If you do see a prompt, you should accept the new certificate to continue using the UofT wireless network.

iOS

IOS 6 and 7 both prompt to accept the certificate when you attempt to connect. Click Accept. Connecting to the wireless network should happen automatically after that.
